Osama for President?

Well, anxiety within the American psyche showed up in a Freudian slip

when absentee ballots for Obama said Osama.

Not Olama, not Ovama, not Onana, but Osama.

It’s said to think that people in this country have been so heavily indoctrinated with Islamofascism that they just spurt out names like “Osama.” Although  I am not sure this error is a reflection of how obsessed Americans are with Osama bin Laden or just how perverse and conservative American society has become that the symptoms of Islamophobia show up constantly.  The mistake could have also been a reflection of the fear that many unjustified, racist Americans have where they accuse Obama of being Muslim ( not that he has the honor to be!) or Arab.  Obama was socialized to beleive he is an African-American, NOT Middle Eastern! It’s so pathetic to watch Americans fluctuate in their opinion toward “others” revealing their great hypocrisy-  When Ahamadenijad speaks, Americans accuse him of being discrminatory and racial, but the irony is that while we accuse the President of Iran who has not made racial comments, ( we misconstrue everything that isn’t spoken in slang English- see post on Iranian President) it is perfectly acceptable to make a claim that Obama is Arab because of some out-dated blood drop quantum rule that says since his last name is an Arabic name, he must be of Arab descent, and therefore within kenyan society, his one-drop-of-blood that originates from Arabs makes him Arab and therefore completely unfit for presidency.

How terrible is that! Americans are not ready for anything, they are not ready to even have an educated President, let alone someone that doesn’t need to go to the tanning salon to look crispy.

So the story goes in Troy, NY (Rensselaear County)  hundreds of voters received ballots in which they said vote for “Barack Osama.” Although this has been claimed to be a human error, it seems highly unlikely since the letter “s” is not close to the letter “b” on a keyboard.

The elections office faxed a statement in which the two commissioners, Democrat Edward McDonough and Republican Larry Bugbee, said they regretted the error, but it never acknowledged what the error was.

“It’s human error. It’s very unfortunate. It’s an embarrassment to our office, obviously,” McDonough said in a later phone interview. “We wish we could turn back the clock, but we can’t.”

When they discovered the mistake, officials shredded the remaining “Osama” ballots and mailed correct versions to the roughly 300 people who had already received them. McDonough said the “Osama” mistake was made in only one of the 13 ballot versions mailed throughout the county, which is east of the state capital, Albany.

This wouldnt happen if we had a universal matriculation system for creating voting sheets and tabulating them, instead of the gimmicks that dirty politicians use to rig votes.

One Response to “Osama for President?”

  1. I hadn’t heard about this little “slip-up” – how absurd! Also, you say “Americans are not ready for anything, they are not ready to even have an educated President…” and I agree wholeheartedly. Remember when ol’ Georgie was running the fist time, and everyone kept saying how great he was because he seemed “like the kind of guy you could have a beer with” at the local watering hole?

Thanks for you comments on my blog. Great post!
